Stolen art and some thanks

I'd also like to take the time to make a statement about this sort of event, as it has now happened enough for me to have an actual policy on art theft.

For those who wish to use my art; I have different policies regarding different kinds of pieces, but reposting is strictly against dA's policy and to my understanding repeat offences can result in a ban. I instead encourage you to use the favorite system for your favorite art; not only will it keep angry fans of the original artist off your case, but it will make your favorite art more popular and possibly encourage other artists to have a look at your original work, which studies show gets better the more you do Whatever you do, don't go ahead and do it and then inform me after the fact. I had someone do this once; I probably would have given them permission had they asked before-hand, but the fact that they were callous enough to act that way really got under my skin.

tl;dr If you don't know, ask. It actually is better to ask permission than forgiveness.

For those that see my art being misused; please do like these users did and inform me about it. Do not attack the user or encourage others to do so. I don't want to be the kind of user known for any kind of rabid fanbase. At most politely inform them of the original source, but that's really it! I will handle it myself and only ask for help when it's actually needed!

Edit: Aaaaannnnd it's gone. Shows what being firm will get you. The piece is now completely gone, and will hopefully not resurface outside of my account again.
